Crossed back apron with liberty print trimmed pockets

I decided to make my own pattern as I couldn't find one i liked in the department store,  I used a linen and cotton mix fabric for the apron that I had stashed away in my cupboard, I also had some liberty print that was prefect for adding a bit of something special to my design, the print features flowers which is perfect, as the apron is for me to wear at my allotment, I'll  be adding some photos of the allotment soon x.

Cloth House, Berwick street, London.

I'd see reviews, and looked at the website, I was keen to visit, I was Not disappointed!! The staff were fine, polite, busy, I had read they could be a bit curt, but when you see how busy they are and how small the shop is well ... Number 47 was the first of the two shops I came across, it supplies fabrics for interiors and also has a selection of sewing notions, buttons, tapes and bindings, This is also a shop I would love to live nearer to!. This is the shop window of number 47, and i know it seems odd, but the place where you pay, was just so nice too i took a photo, it just looked like things had been placed, and that's where they stayed, like they were trinkets. In my next post I will show you what I bought, don't get too excited!, I'm a fan of neutrals and muted colours or "bland" as I've described them as, or "safe".

Love the wall art !

Cafe Liberty's wall art.

Cream Tea @ Liberty's .

My Birthday treat ! I was very nice but they were very tight with the cream !! It was my Birthday after all ! And we all know calories don't count on your birthday, lol x

Liberty's habadashery

I wish I lived nearer to London ! I love their fabric department. last year I bought a roll of Liberty fabric, and almost a year later I have actually used some, I've not wanted to use large pieces of it on one project, so I have combined the liberty prints with some others and I've started to make a lap/wall hanging, using an 8 pointed star, but me being me, decided that, I would try out my freemotion skills, and write some bits from the intro of Liberty s Book of Home Sewing. Well 4 hrs later!, and lots of up picking!  did I say I can't spell  ?  Well I can but when I look back at it again the letters are jumbled up !. My son is dyslexic, I think I am too. This is the first time I have done any freemotion sewing apart from having a practice on scrap fabric first, think it's quit effective, and fingers crossed spelt right.

I love liberty's !

This time last week, I was celebrating my 46th birthday, with a trip to London, with my lovely mum. Our first port of call, as always was Liberty's for their beautifully habadashery department, it was quite at the time so I was able to take a few nice photos, this one is of a really cool mannequin grouping where they are standing in silver bubble wrap bags! Wearing pom pom type wigs, Oh what i wouldn't give to spend the day, working with their VM team! I've got more photos come.
